The Full Moon of Guru Purnima

Blessings on the full moon of Guru Purnima!

Today marks the last full moon in July, known as the Guru Purnima moon, a time of great auspiciousness, a time to honor our teachers and guides and inspirations.

The word Guru refers to that which removes unclarity and forgetfulness of our true Self, our Wholeness.

Guru refers both to the teacher within and the teachers who shared their great knowledge with us.

Guru is the great teacher- the primordial source consciousness that guides and teaches us in numerous forms- our wise inner voice, our deepest knowing, our intuition.

It also takes the form as those we encounter everyday- family, friends, our life circumstances, nature, the present moment, the world’s drama.

Guru can also refer to a beloved teacher who uplifts and supports our fullness.

All of it is the guru. What we learn from these teachers depends on our availability to receive the teachings and lessons from our encounters.

Purnima is a word that means fullness, wholeness, perfection, lacking nothing. It refers to the essential nature of our being.

On this Guru Purnima, may we give our gratitude for the myriad of ways we were available to those who shared teachings that showed us ways to access our heart, our higher knowing and deepest inner respect.

May we bow in remembrance to those who believed in us enough to trust us with guidance, care, love, wisdom, teachings that uplifted and clarified.

On Guru Purnima, we honor the teacher in all-  that which and who reveals the layers and levels of depth, consciousness, subtlety, wisdom, fulfillment, love-bliss, pure potency that dwells within us as the gift of being human.
